Companies Ordinance, In 1 of 1865. My Lords observe that the Secretary of State has signified the confirmation by the Majority of the Ordinance, no 2 of 1866, to Amend no 1 of 1865, and they presume that, in conformity with the views expressed in their letter of 5th November last, all reference to Banking Companies has been excluded from the Ordinance and that with regard to those Companies, separate legislation will be adopted.
The fees paid by the Shanghai Hong-Kong and Shanghai Banking Company (Limited) on its registration under the Companies Act on the 8th August last will be repayable to that Company being incorporated upon its own Act of incorporation, according to the conditions of the letter from this Board of 25th June last.
